Peewee OBA win Pelham tournament opener
Denver Ladd came to ballpark and meant business on Friday, tallying five hits and leading Clinton Mustangs 13U to a 23-1 win over Woodstock. Ladd tripled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and doubled in the fifth. Clinton Mustangs 13U secured the victory thanks to 12 runs in the fifth inning.


Clinton Mustangs 13U big bats were led by Holden Heipel, Ladd, Lucas Preszcator, Kyle Stevenson, Keaton Middleton, and Teegan Middleton, all driving in runs in the inning. Clinton Mustangs 13U opened up scoring in the first inning. Clinton Mustangs 13U scored one run on a stolen base. Clinton Mustangs 13U notched 12 runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by doubles by Middleton, Heipel, and Ladd, singles by Ladd and Evan Langendoen, groundouts by Preszcator and Stevenson, a walk by Heipel, and an error on a ball put in play by Middleton.
Evan Langendoen led things off on the pitcher's mound for Clinton Mustangs 13U. He allowed only one hit and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Darren was on the hill for Woodstock. He went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out two. Parker and Gabe entered the game as relief for Woodstock, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively. Cameron Williscraft closed out the remaining one and one-third innings for Clinton allowing 3 walks, no hits and no runs.
Clinton Mustangs 13U tallied 16 hits. Ladd, Middleton, Johnny Pelss, Preszcator, and Heipel all managed multiple hits for Clinton Mustangs 13U. Ladd went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Clinton Mustangs 13U in hits.
Clinton Mustangs were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Troy Langendoen had the most chances in the field with seven. Langendoen led Clinton Mustangs 13U with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 26 stolen bases. Ben led Woodstock with one hit in one at bats.
