Holden Heipel named WOBA's 2019 Youth Rep Player of the Year.

Holden is a vibrant young athlete who exhibits fairness and respect and rightfully earned his position as his team's leader on the field.

He lead Clinton's team in all batting categories, with a batting average of .630, OBP of .705, SLG% of 1.221 and an OPS of 1.925. He lead the team with 43 hits including 19 singles 11 doubles, 10 triples and 3 out of the park home-runs while only striking out 3 times all year! He was walked a team leading 18 times, he stole 37 bases and scored 45 runs and drove in 46 runs.

As a defensive player he played shortstop when he wasn't pitching. As a pitcher he lead Clinton's team in every pitching stat with a record of 5-1 in 9 games started, pitching 43.2 innings, giving up 32 hits, 9 earned runs striking out 70 batters and only walking 13 and not hitting a single batter. He had an ERA of 1.443 an a WHIP of 1.031. At shortstop he had fielding % of .892.

Holden was an instrumental part for the success of his team and a huge factor in his team winning back to back OBA "13U C" Provincial Championships.

This nominee enjoys the company of his teammates and is a role model gentleman for the sport. He was always the first at the diamond and last to leave for both practices and games, and was often seen picking up garbage from the bench when others had already left to go home. He always helped at practice by setting up and taking down equipment.  His coaches admirably noted that they never had to speak to him about his attitude towards fellow players, coaches or umpires. Every player was treated and regarded as a equal participant and he did not minimize anyone's abilities.  Congratulations to Holden Heipel as the 2019 WOBA Youth Rep Player of the Year.
